1. What kind of retreat is Provençal Adventures?

Provençal Adventures is a small-group hiking and wellness retreat in Provence, combining guided hikes, villa stays, local food and wine, village life, and time to properly unwind in nature.
2. How long is the retreat?

Each retreat lasts 6 days and 5 nights. Retreat dates currently run from Tuesday to Sunday.

3. How many people are in each group?

The retreats are small-group experiences, with a maximum of 8 guests.

4. What is included in the retreat?

The retreat includes villa accommodation, three guided hiking days, a culture day, village visits, Fayence market, a vineyard tour and wine tasting, most meals, and airport transfers from Nice at the scheduled arrival and departure times.

5. What is not included?

Flights are not included. Comprehensive travel insurance is also required. One lunch and one dinner out at local restaurants are also not included.

6. Where is the villa located?

The villa is in the hills near Seillans in Provence, with the village of Seillans around five minutes away by car.

7. Are the hikes suitable for beginners?

The hikes are adapted to the group, which helps keep the experience supportive and enjoyable, but your Terms & Conditions also make clear that a moderate to high level of fitness is required, and one hike reaches an altitude of up to 1,700 metres. The best approach is to get in touch if you are unsure about your level.

8. How challenging are the hikes?

The hiking days vary depending on the route and group, and may include steady climbs, steeper descents, and longer days in the mountains. The itinerary is designed to be rewarding rather than rushed, but it is still an active retreat.

9. Can solo travellers join?

Yes. Solo travellers can join, though private-room availability depends on the room type and availability at the time of booking. Some rooms can also be shared.

10. What are the meals like?

Food is a central part of the retreat. Meals at the villa are home-cooked French and Provençal dishes made with fresh local ingredients and, wherever possible, organic produce. The retreat also includes dining at local family-run restaurants and a vineyard visit with wine tasting.

11. Can dietary requirements be accommodated?

Yes, you should let Provençal Adventures know about any dietary requirements or preferences on the booking form. The team will do its best to accommodate them, although the Terms & Conditions note that local restaurants cannot guarantee all requests.

12. Are airport transfers included?

Yes, scheduled transfers are included. On the current itinerary, pickup from Nice Airport is between 10.30am and 11.30am on arrival day, and departure from the villa is at 2.00pm on the final day, with airport arrival usually between 3.00pm and 3.30pm.

13. How much does the retreat cost?

Prices currently start at £1,250 per person, with room prices varying depending on room type and occupancy.

14. How does booking work?

A booking form is required to be read through and signed first. A 25% deposit is required to confirm the booking, unless otherwise stated. The remaining balance is due at least 10 weeks before departure.

15. What is the cancellation policy?

For cancellations made more than 90 days before departure, deposits are returned less any expenses incurred, unless the deposit was stated as non-refundable. Between 90 and 61 days, the deposit is not refundable. Between 60 and 45 days, 50% of the total tour cost applies. Within 45 days, 100% of the tour cost applies.

16. Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is a mandatory booking requirement.

17. What should I bring?

We will provide you with a packing list in our welcome pack after you have made the booking.

18. Are private retreats available?
